My So-Called Band
My So-Called Band (www.mysocalledband.com and www.myspace.com/mysocalledband) was a band dedicated to carrying the tradition of old-school punk into the future without sounding like we were stuck in the past. We existed from 1995 until 2005 and tried to push the envelope as far as what people had come to expect from an old-school punk band. The band was started by Chris Peigler (vocals and bass) and Luke Warm (guitar and vocals). Luke left at the end of 1998 and was replaced by our friend Ryan McGinnis who had been influential in the band's direction from the start. We had five different drummers during our ten year run with the longest lasting being Patrick Korson (1995-1998), Chris Loebs (1999-2003) and Kevin Gavagan (2003-2005). The band was based out of Charlotte, NC. Our first three CD's were released on the local label, Yesha Records which is now out of business and our last two CD's were released by the label that we started ourselves in 2001, Suicide Watch Records (www.suicidewatchrecords.com). We were influenced by The Clash, The Ramones, Black Flag, TSOL, and MC5. People have said that we sounded like Moral Crux, Naked Raygun, and D.O.A.
